Shot between 1972 and 1981, by Philippe Ernaux, the super 8 silent family archive footage captures Annie Ernaux’s start as a writer, her first book, and the ending of her marriage. The text she reads overlays the images, interrogates the clichés and the social conventions they portray to associate an intimate testimonial with a social history of the decade.
