School of Information Studies Assistant Professor Wan-Chen Lee and doctoral candidate Juliana Hirt presented their poster, Cultivating AI Literacy in Libraries: A Resource Guide for Librarians and Users, at the 2026 American Library Association (ALA) Annual Conference in Chicago.
Their presentation explored the growing role of artificial intelligence in libraries, highlighting both the opportunities AI creates for research and library services and the challenges it presents related to bias, privacy, and transparency. Recognizing libraries’ unique role in promoting responsible AI use, Lee and Hirt developed a practical, curated resource guide to help librarians apply ethical AI practices in their daily work.
The resource guide is designed to support informed decision-making by providing accessible tools and guidance as libraries adapt to the rapidly evolving AI landscape.
