Bio

Chad Zahrt is the Assistant Dean for Student Advising and Support Services at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (UWM) College of Community Engagement and Professions (CCEP). In his capacity as assistant dean, he serves on the College’s leadership team and is responsible for student advising, retention and recruitment, outreach, alumni relations, IT services and administrative operations and strategic planning across all academic programs for the College. During his tenure he has been integral in the growth of the BS in Information Science and Technology (IST) program, developing and leading the IST program in the UW Flexible Competency-Based modality, and launching the Master of Information Science and Technology degree.  His work across the College has included process improvement, accelerated admissions and the integration of holistic advising for all students of CCEP. 

Before joining UWM in 2004, he was project implementation lead for Endeavor Information Systems’ Voyager Integrated Library Systems, providing OPAC design and rollout, best practice workflow, and change management for academic libraries in the US, UK, Australia and New Zealand. He holds a BA in English (1993) from the University of Iowa and an MLIS (1999) from UWM.
