Bio

Mary Wepking began her professional life as a high school English teacher. She earned an MLIS in 1992 from UWM and has worked in a wide range of libraries, spending four years as the head of Acquisitions and Collection Development for UW-Platteville, nine years as a high school librarian in metropolitan Milwaukee, plus served briefly as the Continuing Education Coordinator for South Central Library System in Madison and the Director of the library at UW-Baraboo/Sauk County. She joined SOIS in 2007, teaching and advising in all areas of youth services in school and public libraries. Mary is the School Library Media Coordinator, assisting and advising students in Wisconsin and other states in obtaining certification as k-12 library media specialists.
