Karli Pederson

Adjunct Instructor

Karli Pederson is an adjunct instructor teaching INFOST 646-Library Materials for Young Adults for UWM’s School of Information Studies and is a 2008 SOIS graduate (M.L.I.S). She has over 15 years' experience working in a public library. This work has included children & teen services, collection development for all ages, and technical services. She is a member of the American Library Association (ALA) and the Wisconsin Library Association (WLA). She served on the WLA’s Children’s Book Award Committee and the WLA’s Awards & Honors Committee, including being a committee chair for both awards. She also served on the selection committee for the National Ambassador for Young People’s Literature. She came to library work with a background in education and has a specific interest in collection development with a focus on equity, diversity, and inclusivity.
