Bio
Myunghwan Park is a Teaching Faculty II in the School of Information Studies at the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee (UWM). He received his PhD in Computer Science and Engineering from the University of Minnesota in 2010. Prior to joining UWM in 2025, Dr. Park served as Associate Professor at the Korea Air Force Academy, where he taught and conducted research in software engineering, safety-critical systems, and military applications of computer science. He also served as a C4I Management Officer at the Korea Air Force Headquarters and as a search and rescue helicopter pilot, retiring at the rank of Colonel.
Dr. Park’s research focuses on the verification and validation (V&V) of safety-critical software, test suite evaluation using error propagation probability, and the application of AR/VR and modeling & simulation (M&S) technologies in military training and education. He has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals and conferences, including IEEE Access, Aerospace Medicine and Human Performance, and the IEEE International Conference on Software Testing, Verification and Validation. His research has been supported by grants from the National Research Foundation of Korea, the Agency for Defense Development, and private industry.
