Bio

Steven Miller is currently writing a second edition of his book Metadata for Digital Collections, to be published by ALA Neal-Schuman in 2021. Since his retirement in 2016 he has periodically taught a continuing education course titled “Linked Data for Beginners.” Before retirement he taught MLIS courses on information and knowledge organization, metadata, cataloging, information architecture, and linked data. Steve has given numerous conference presentations, developed workshop materials published by the Library of Congress and OCLC, and served on committees and held leadership positions in several national-level professional organizations. In retirement, besides keeping up with developments in metadata and linked data, he enjoys reading for pleasure, studying classical Greek language and literature, classical music, opera, travel, bicycling and exercise.
