Bio

Jan Donahou is an adjunct instructor for UWM’s School of Information Studies and is a 2008 SOIS graduate (M.L.I.S). After working fourteen years as a school librarian in both small and large school districts in Wisconsin, she became the academic librarian at UWM at Washington County in 2019. She is a member the Association of Curriculum and Research Librarians (ACRL) within ALA. and the Wisconsin Library Association (WLA). She has presented at the annual meeting Wisconsin Educational Media and Technology Association (WEMTA) numerous times. She is currently serving on the 2030 Libraries Work Group helping to envision the future of our university libraires. With a strong conviction that libraries are a common good for society, she works to make her library a place of comfort and curiosity to all. Her research interests include diversity in children’s publishing and the use of graphic novels in the classroom.
