Synopsis:
Trauma-Informed Librarianship is an emerging area of conversation among librarians and library workers, particularly in public and school libraries. Growing from the healthcare field, trauma-informed librarianship approaches library work with enhanced care, empathy, community-building, and service. A trauma-informed approach, rooted in an awareness of the entire self of a patron and the library worker including trauma, helps create more supportive, compassionate, and community-focused library service for all.
