April 29th session Alums:

Liz Antaramian
Director of Archives – Austin PBS

Liz Antaramian is the Director of Archives at Austin PBS. She is responsible for preserving the history of the station, involving the digitization and organization of materials. Her focus is on ensuring that materials are not only preserved but discoverable. As a relatively new member of the station, Liz brings her background in traditional archiving and librarianship by way of Southeastern Wisconsin. Earning her Masters of Library and Information Science from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, Liz focused her studies on Information Organization, allowing her to have a more in-depth understanding on how structured metadata assists in the discoverability of materials. In her previous professional experience, she was responsible for curating digital collections at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside. It is due to her background that Liz is excited to bring her expertise on cataloging, preserving, and developing metadata to Austin PBS. In her spare time, Liz enjoys collaborating with her peers on the Metadata Steering Committee, testing initiatives on the Voice Activation Playbook Committee, and discussing changes on the EIDR “Busted Pilot” Tiger Team.
