Daria Mueller

Daria Mueller is a research assistant with the Institute for Child and Family Well-Being. She is working on the Healthy Workers, Healthy Wisconsin (HWHW) project, a multi-year initiative funded through the Wisconsin Partnership Project.

Daria is a PhD candidate in Social Welfare at the University of Wisconsin—Milwaukee. Her research focuses on three related areas: street-level prostitution and sex trafficking, violence against women, and women’s experiences with the criminal justice system. She has 13 years of professional experience in the field of social work. Just prior to beginning her doctoral studies, she served as the Associate Director of Policy for the Chicago Coalition for the Homeless. In this role, she successfully advocated for passage of legislation and funding, and developed initiatives to serve the needs of victims of trafficking, women engaged in prostitution, and people experiencing homelessness. She received her master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Illinois at Chicago, and her bachelor’s in social work from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
