  • Biogeochemical cycling of carbon, nutrients and trace elements in aquatic systems.
  • Fate and transport of microplastics, 6PPD-Quinone, and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS).
  • Role of natural organic matter in regulating the chemical speciation, phase partitioning, and biogeochemical cycling of toxic metals and organic contaminants.
  • Physicochemical processes at soil-water, sediment-water, river-lake, & land-ocean interfaces
  • Biogeochemical response of Arctic rivers and permafrost to climate and environmental change
