TRiO is a federally funded, academic success program available at the UWM at Washington County and UWM at Waukesha campuses. By partnering with eligible students, advisors provide a wide range of academic resources that help highly motivated students meet their educational goals. Nationwide, TRiO students are more than twice as likely to complete their degrees as eligible students who do not participate in TRiO.

- Assistance in obtaining financial aid (FAFSA)

- Assistance in securing admission and financial assistance for enrollment in baccalaureate programs
- Exposure to cultural/educational events
Eligibility
To qualify for this program, you must be a U.S. citizen and a current or prospective student at UWM at Washington County or UWM at Waukesha pursuing an associate or bachelor’s degree and meet one of the following criteria:
- First-generation college student (neither parent graduated from a four-year college/university)
- Income eligible per federal guidelines (most PELL grant recipients)
- Documented learning or physical disability
