About
The UWM College of General Studies is a great place to start your college education.
Freshmen and sophomores can choose from an array of classes that lead to an Associate of Arts and Sciences (AAS) degree and satisfy general education requirements for bachelor’s degrees at UWM and other UW System campuses.
The college offers courses on UWM’s campus in Waukesha. It was created in 2018 when UW-Waukesha joined with UWM as part of the University of Wisconsin System’s reorganization of the two-year campuses formerly known as UW Colleges. The UWM College of General Studies includes three departments — Arts and Humanities, Math and Natural Sciences, and Social Sciences and Business. The departments offer classes in more than 29 subject areas. If you’re a high-achiever, you’ll be interested in the Honors Program.
