Buddhist Studies Certificate

Originating in Asia 25 centuries ago, Buddhism has long been one of the world’s largest religions and spiritual forces.

The Buddhist Studies program at UWM at Waukesha offers a solid grounding in the Buddhist path with eight courses leading to a certificate:

  • Introduction to Buddhism
  • Buddhist Iconography
  • History of Zen Buddhism
  • Buddhist Meditation
  • Buddhist Literature
  • History of Buddhist Thought
  • Tibetan Buddhism
  • Master Class in Buddhist Studies

Instructor Michael Mullooly earned his master’s degree in the languages and cultures of Asia from UW-Madison and also holds degrees in philosophy and history from Marquette University. Since 2006, he has taught many popular courses through UWM at Waukesha’s Continuing Education and has traveled and led tours through Asia.
