Zachary Bertram

Zac (He/Him) is a doctoral student in the Educational Psychology department, and has taught a variety of master's-level courses, including Pre-Practicum, Practicum I, Group Counseling, and Trauma Counseling II. As a researcher, Zac is a member of Dr. Leah Rouse's research team, and is currently working on his dissertation proposal which investigates predictors of work volition for formerly incarcerated adults in the United States. Zac's other research interests include posttraumatic growth, trauma recovery and treatment. Zac finds his greatest passion in psychology comes from clinical work and supervision, and has studied and implemented behaviorist techniques with his clients to treat a range of mental health challenges, including stress-related disorders, eating disorders, OCD, and borderline personality disorder. Zac currently uses Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) in his work with clients, and is hoping to transition into his internship in summer of 2025.
