The Maker Faire Was a Blast

On September 29th, DAC attended the Maker Faire Milwaukee that took place at the Wisconsin State Fair Park. Every year, this event brings together creatives and makers from all different backgrounds who have a passion for learning and exploring their creativity. From engineers and scientists to artists and crafters, the Maker Faire is an event that fits everyone’s interests.

It was our first time attending this event and we were certainly surprised by how big of a deal it is. This year there were more than 250 makers. We saw all different kinds of crafts and other neat things, such as these jellyfish, which are created by using fiber optics, RGB LED lights, and other art objects.

We were also very proud to see some fellow Panthers at the Fair. Just to mention a few of them: The UWM Innovation CampusThe UWM College of Engineering and Applied ScienceThe UWM School of Architecture and Urban PlanningThe UWM Print Club, and UWM Object, which is a jewelry and metalsmithing student organization.

So if you have a fascination and curiosity for all things creative and innovative, the Maker Faire is an event that you shouldn’t miss. Keep an eye out for next year’s date on their official website: https://milwaukee.makerfaire.com/

Remember, you can also sign up to participate in the fair and bring your own creations.
