Being compliant and ethical is simply how we do things here.

Please take time to learn the compliance and ethical rules that apply to you as well as how to report issues. As a first step, ask your supervisor what compliance and ethics rules apply to you. If your role involves performing a compliance function on behalf of UWM, be sure to familiarize yourself with your compliance obligations as well as UWM’s Compliance Committee Structure.

Here a few key items to help you get started:

  • UWM’s Code of Conduct: The Code of Conduct outlines the principles and standards that guide our work. Familiarize yourself with the Code, as it reflects UWM’s core values and ethics expectations.
  • Mandatory Training: UWM provides comprehensive mandatory training to help you understand your responsibilities and the resources available to support you. Please complete required mandatory trainings within the timeframe communicated to you by Human Resources and/or your supervisor.
  • Compliance and Ethics Resources: The Office of Compliance & Ethics website offers a variety of resources to assist you with navigating ethical and compliance-related topics.
  • Reporting Concerns: UWM encourages openness and accountability. If you encounter a situation that you believe violates our ethical standards or legal requirements, please do not hesitate to report it. Multiple methods for reporting concerns are detailed here.
  • Support: The Office of Compliance & Ethics is always available to answer any questions or concerns you may have. Whether you need guidance on a compliance topic or ethical issue or have suggestions for improving UWM’s compliance program, please feel free to reach out to UWM’s Compliance & Ethics Officer directly.
