Welcome to the College of Community Engagement and Professions (CCEP). We bring together scholars, students, alumni, and staff members from a variety of academic disciplines spanning many professions, who work locally, nationally, and internationally to address complex issues. The college offers a range of programs in education, information studies and social welfare, empowering individuals to create positive change.

Located on the main UW-Milwaukee campus, CCEP’s 3,400 undergraduate and graduate students have access to agencies, schools, and business connections in Wisconsin’s largest city. Milwaukee County is Wisconsin’s industrial and business hub, employing more teachers, tech workers, librarians, social workers, school and community mental health workers, and criminal justice practitioners than any other area of the state.

Given the applied nature of CCEP disciplines, we believe that education must go beyond the classroom. Our programs provide multiple experiential learning opportunities, allowing students to use their skills and knowledge to address real-world problems in agencies, organizations, and schools. This unique educational experience provides students with the knowledge, skills, and values to become effective change agents in their respective fields.

CCEP is built on the principles of engagement, equity, and social responsibility. We place a strong emphasis on holistic learning and interdisciplinary collaboration. The CCEP faculty engage in applied translational research, making a real-world difference in our communities, and improving the lives of Wisconsin’s population.

I welcome you to explore the College of Community Engagement and Professions and the opportunities it offers you!
