Mass spectrometry (MS) is at the core of the State-of-the-art Analytical Instrumentation Laboratory and Research Core (SAILARC), an integrated MS facility housed in UWM’s Kenwood Interdisciplinary Research Complex. The facility houses nine mass spectrometers ranging from GC-MS, LC-MS, LC-MS/MS, QTOF, Orbitrap, MALDI, and ICP-MS instruments from Shimadzu and Thermo Fisher.
The facility provides comprehensive mass spectrometry services, including sample preparation, method development, qualitative and quantitative analysis, high-resolution MS, structural elucidation, and both targeted and untargeted analysis of small molecules, metal ions and biomolecular analysis. These services are available to both campus and external users. In addition, we offer hands-on training to scientists who prefer to conduct their own analyses using our instruments, which are available for a hourly fee.
The facility is secured with authorized key-card access and round-the-clock campus surveillance. Our experienced staff are dedicated to supporting your analytical and bioanalytical needs and can assist with method development and troubleshooting along with the training and core services. We look forward to working with you. Please visit the SAILARC website for additional details at https://sites.uwm.edu/sailarc/
