Networking for Introverts (and Extroverts): Building Your Mentoring Network and Making the Most Out of Your Next Conference

Networking is often framed as something that comes naturally to extroverts, but building a strong professional network is a skill that can be developed intentionally by anyone. In this seminar, we will discuss the role of mentors in supporting success at different stages of an academic or professional career and provide structured opportunities to reflect on existing relationships and areas where additional support may be helpful. The seminar will then shift to practical, low-pressure strategies for networking at conferences, including ways to prepare in advance, engage during meetings, and follow up effectively afterward.
