Research Interests

Her Undergraduate Research is Removal of Nitrate from Drinking Water using Citric acid - activated Carbon produced from Palmyrah nut shells.

During my RA period she did Water Quality Monitoring Project in the Northern Part of Sri Lanka and she did another research while I was RA Removal of Methylene Blue Dye from Palmyrah and Coconut Nutshell.

  • An abstract titled " Investigation of Palmyrah Nut Shell Derived Activated Carbon for Removal of Nitrate Contamination from Ground Water" was published in the Annual Research Congress-2022 of the Postgraduate Institution of Science, University of Peradeniya Sri Lanka.
  • Published an article for publication in the journal of Discover Civil Engineering titled as Removal of Nitrate ion from aqueous solution using palmyrah nutshell activated carbon: factorial optimization and equilibrium studies.

Poster Presentations

  • Awarded Third Place in the 3MT Research Poster Session organized by the AHEAD-ELTA-ELSE Project-2021 for the final year students, Faculty of Science, University of Jaffna, Sri Lanka.
  • Certificate of Participation in University Poster Competition organized by the English Speakers Club under the AHEAD-ELTA-ELSE Project on 2021.
