UWM alumni are some of the brightest and most qualified at what they do, with over 80% staying in Wisconsin to work and live after graduation. We are proud of the positive impact UWM graduates have on our region and state. UWM’s work to make college accessible to all is at the core of our goal of college completion, work placement and innovation through research and collaboration.

Build the Workforce

Every year more than 5,300 graduates fill the talent pipeline across industries and professions including the fastest-growing, highest-demand jobs. The vast majority of UWM alumni live and work in Wisconsin, contributing to the economic growth of our state and region. We are the most inclusive four-year institution in Wisconsin with the largest numbers of first-generation, students of color, active military and veterans, and LGBTQ+ community members learning and growing together to become the next generation of leaders.

Student Achievement

UWM has made significant strides closing the achievement gap and improving retention and graduation rates. There is more work to do including through our groundbreaking partnerships M-Cubed and the Higher Education Regional Alliance (HERA). To meet the needs of Wisconsinites with an associate’s degree looking for a streamlined pathway to a bachelor’s degree, we have created transfer agreements with six Wisconsin technical colleges. We believe that fostering a campus community of care and support creates the foundation for student achievement.
