The Outstanding Doctoral Student Teaching Award recognizes doctoral student instructors who have received outstanding teaching evaluations over the past calendar year.

Eligibility

Doctoral students with Dissertator status who major in the Management Science PhD. program, have passed their preliminary exams, and have taught their own independent course at the Lubar School of Business over the past calendar year. Discussion sections are not eligible for this award.

Process

The award is based on instructor ratings received over the past calendar year. If more than one independent course was taught over the past calendar year, the award will be based on the course that received the highest instructor evaluation score. Students do not need to apply for the award. The award process models the LSB Gold Star Teaching Award in that it will use the global instructor ratings item and require 10 or more evaluations from students enrolled in the course. The award will be given to one recipient and two runner-ups or finalists. The school’s teaching committee will review the teaching evaluations and make their recommendations to the Dean.
