Art History

Study Art. Understand the World.

Art enables us to find ourselves and lose ourselves at the same time.

The Art History Department invites you to explore how images, objects, and architecture shape human experience across time and place. By studying art, you’ll uncover the ways people have expressed ideas, identities, and values—from ancient traditions to contemporary movements.

In this program, you’ll develop critical skills in research, writing, and interpretation while engaging directly with artworks and cultural contexts. Whether your interests lean toward history, creativity, or global perspectives, art history provides the tools to understand the world through its visual and material culture.
