Urban Planning co-chair Carolyn Esswein offered insight into how community-supported visions can help spur future development in Milwaukee neighborhoods experiencing commercial disinvestment.

Esswein explains why community involvement can help lay the groundwork for future development.
“Developers are looking for a vision that’s already been essentially vetted out,” Esswein said. “Where there’s a vision that’s already been supported by the local neighborhood group, the residents, and sometimes the city.”
