UWM’s Community Design Solutions (CDS) partnered with North Division High School to make improvements to the school’s interior and exterior spaces. North Division is one of six Milwaukee Public Schools to receive major capital investments this year, with $2.4 million dedicated to expanding career and technical education at the high school.
The Urban Milwaukee article by Jeramey Jannene details the improvements at North Division, which include new and renovated spaces for specialized programs. Through a year-long collaboration between CDS and North Division, SARUP students designed landscaping features that North Division carpentry and construction students will build.
“The school is working with UW-Milwaukee’s School of Architecture on exterior and interior improvements, including landscaping, outdoor gathering spaces, and an eventual redesign intended to give portions of the building a more collegiate feel,” Jannene wrote.
