Dean of the College of the Arts and Architecture Dr. Winifred Elysse Newman is among 25 architecture education leaders sharing perspectives on how schools can prepare students for the evolving demands of the profession.
In an Archinect article by Alexander Walter, Newman advocates for strengthening research literacy and collaborative skills in architecture education, particularly as architects confront increasingly complex social, environmental and economic challenges.
“Effective collaboration is a skill that requires intentional development,” Newman said. “Today, however, successful projects depend on teamwork and interdisciplinary cooperation. Buildings are larger and more complex, and their social, environmental, and economic implications require intellectual and creative teamwork.”
