Portable X-Ray Fluorescence Analyzer (pXRF)
The Archaeological Research Laboratory (ARL) supports a Bruker Tracer IIIv+ handheld pXRF device. The analyzer is equipped with dedicated laptop computer and vacuum pump. The Tracer is available for use by UWM faculty, staff, and students. The Bruker device is used to conduct elemental level compositional analyses of various materials. Researchers wishing to use the analyzer must first register with UWM Radiation Safety and obtain a personal dosimeter to be worn when using the device.
