Students interested in advancing their career with a master’s degree in actuarial science should enroll in the master’s program in mathematical science. Within this program, students can specifically focus on actuarial science (option c).
The other tracks available within the master’s program in mathematical sciences are standard math (option a) or statistics (option b).
The preferred application deadline for the master’s program actuarial science option is January 31 for a fall start. We do not admit students to start option c in the spring semester. But we do admit students for a spring start for option a or b, and the preferred deadline is November 15.
In order to be considered for admission to the graduate program, candidates must complete the UWM Graduate School online application. Competitive candidates will have a strong undergraduate record with a degree in math, statistics, actuarial science or related field.
Information about submission of transcripts, GPA requirements, and English proficiency, grievance policy, and more can be found on the Graduate School website. International students should also review the UWM Center for International Education website for admissions info specific to international students.
