Exam Statistics

Statistics Information

We urge instructors who purchase new ACS examinations for use in their classes to return student response data, which enables us to compute national norms for exams. If you are willing to share your student data (student names are never recorded at the Examinations Institute) for the Examinations Institute data to use in computing norms, be sure to follow the Directions for Administering Examinations that is sent with your exam order, and available at the Administering Exam link below.

As soon as enough data is collected, national test norms and item statistics are calculated for each examination. Once it has been calculated, this statistical data is available in its entirety to everyone who has purchased a particular examination. Instructors who supply norming data receive detailed, confidential information about the performance of their students, compared to data from the national norming population.
