Summary:

Footage in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin, of wood-frame homes. Hugh Carlson reports on the prevalence of frame home architecture in the United States and interviews Hans Stude, a German-born builder who came to Oconomowoc in 1968. (His German father from Essen, West Germany, is interviewed in Part 1.) Mr. Stude discusses the safety, cost and affordability of frame homes, and footage shows a house under construction.
