5 Questions with Anthony: UWM at Waukesha Sophomore Pursuing Pre-Med

1. What do you like most about UWM at Waukesha?

“Everybody here at Waukesha campus is super positive. You always get to interact with your professors, too. This is not a place where you might get lost in the crowd.
And it never stops amazing me how active the campus community is with clubs, organizations and sports.”

2. What is your favorite class?

“Pop Culture in Media (CTA 218) was one of my favorites. It was a discussion-led class and broke the traditional class structure mold. I was interested in every topic we talked about, and it really gave me a way to grow my critical thinking skills and start questioning the world around me.”

3. Favorite professor?

“That’s tough! Everyone who is part of UWM at Waukesha is welcoming. But Professor Cami Bergquist, who teaches communications-theatre arts courses, is one of my favorites. She has a way of engaging with students that makes every class exciting and fun. She also cares about her students and is always open to discussions.

4. What do you do for fun outside of class?

“I’m president of the Activity Coordination Team (ACT), which plans a lot of campus events. I’m also treasurer of the Student Government Association (SGA) and run cross-country in fall. Beyond those groups, I also work on campus.

5. What advice do you have for new students?

“Get involved in clubs and organizations on campus. There are so many that you will definitely find something that fits — but you can also create one of your own. They’re a great way to meet new people and make long-lasting friendships.
