Catelyn, a Sophomore Pursuing Communications, Shares Why She Chose UWM at Waukesha

“When I was graduating high school, I definitely didn’t think I was going to be able to go off and live on my own at 18 years old. I’m from Waukesha, so UWM at Waukesha is really close to home and a great option for me. I also really like the guaranteed transfer program offered here. It’s really important to know that when I’m finished at UWM at Waukesha, I can go and get my four-year degree where I would like.

“I’m part of the Activities Coordination Team (ACT) at the Waukesha campus. We put on fun events for the student community. I joined ACT during our welcome week event called Fall Fest. I met a whole bunch of new people who were involved, so I wanted to get involved too. Everyone here is really welcoming.

“Besides intending to major in communications, I’m also planning to minor in Spanish. I really like my Spanish professor here. She helps us dive into the culture and practice real-life situations in which we’d have to speak Spanish. It makes me love Spanish and want to study the language even more.”
