I am a Professor in Biological Sciences and Freshwater Sciences who studies the ecology of oceans and lakes, especially the microscopic plants and animal that live in the upper waters. I have degrees in Marine Biology (U. Guelph, Canada) and Biological Oceanography (U. British Columbia, Canada), and I have worked in many countries including Ireland (Queen’s University Belfast) and Australia (U. Tasmania). I am a Fellow of the Association for the Sciences of Limnology and Oceanography, and the Higher Education Association. I have keen interests in the interface between Biology and Mathematics and have co-coordinated a Biomathematics Program at UWM. I am also a mentor in UWM’s Wisconsin Alliance for Minority Participation Program, and have a keen interest in programs aimed at enabling those with disabilities.
