Joette Rockow

Joette Rockow has taught at UWM since 2001. She has worked in the mass communication and graphics industry since the 1980s. Joette attained an associate degree in Photography from Milwaukee Area Technical College, a BA in Communications from Alverno College, and an MA in Journalism and Mass Communication from UW-Milwaukee.

 

She worked for almost 11 years at Harley-Davidson Motor Company as a writer, photographer, and a communication/public relations manager. She also worked at various agencies and graphic production firms in the Milwaukee area.

 

Joette continues to work on projects outside of teaching often engaging in pro-bono PR/marketing/fundraising work for non-profit animal welfare organizations and anti-violence organizations through her business Tao-Kitty Marketing. Joette lives in Milwaukee near Alverno College with one indoor cat, Trixie, and two “community cats” named Baby and Brad Pitt who live on her porch in a doghouse (heated in winter). When not teaching, she enjoy traveling, tennis, playing music, Tai Chi, hiking, biking, photography, cooking, reading and she is learning how to properly ride a horse.
