Project Description
The objective of this research is to measure and model the transport of groundwater contaminants from the water table and into the vadose zone. The methodology of this research is laboratory experimental in one-dimensional flow through columns of variably-saturated granular porous media followed by inverse modeling of flow and transport using numerical/computational methods.
Tasks and Responsibilites
The student will be tasked with constructing and operating constant-head and transient-transport laboratory experimental column tests followed by inverse modeling of the results.
