Project Description
Museums facilitate patron engagement in two main ways. The first is by providing signage and the second is through verbal communication with museum staff. We are exploring the impact of verbal communication children's exploratory play in a museum. In particular, we are testing predictions about whether particular descriptions of an exhibit space will constrain how children engage with the space.
Tasks and Responsibilites
Students will be engaged in all facets of the project; from data collection, data entry, coding complex visual data, preparing data for analyses, and preparing the work for distribution and dissemination. Upon completion of the project students will be invited to participate in new, related, follow-up projects.
