The Autism Brilliance Lab for Entrepreneurship

Arts (Peck School of the) / Art & Design

Project Description

The Autism Brilliance Lab for Entrepreneurship (ABLE) uses art and design projects as educational vehicles for the neurodiverse workforce and workplace development. We continue to build evidence on how art and design education and skills lead to workforce and workplace integration in this third study. Here we will work with what we learned from Studies 1 and 2 and evaluate a statewide initiative that gathers neurodivergent teens and young adults (aged 16 through early 30s) to develop community contribution through creative arts-based activities and guided discussions. The Fellowship uses the Five Cs of Positive Youth Development (PYD): competence, confidence, connection, caring, and character, leading to a sixth C of contribution, as the evidence-based framework to build its curriculum that addresses issues transitioning from school to the workforce.
