Structural Laboratory

Engineering & Applied Science (College of) / Civil & Environmental Engineering

Project Description

The objective is to experimentally evaluate the application of survival analysis techniques to engineering fatigue. A large number of wire test samples will be tested to evaluate fatigue resistance in servo-hydraulic test machines. The results will be used to evaluate whether the survival analysis techniques, widely used in medical research, can be used to model engineering fatigue.

Tasks and Responsibilites

The student will prepare wire test samples and help conduct fatigue tests in the structural laboratory. The student will also collect test data and help analyze results.
