Project Description
This project is focused on the testing and refinement of an 8-session psychosocial group for adult immigrants and refugees from Latin America, called "Cultivating Resilience". This intervention has a focus on simultaneously reducing acculturative stress as well as increasing resilience. The intervention will be tested through a pilot randomized controlled trial comparing the intervention to a waitlist control rolled out through several community partner sites in Milwaukee. We are also seeking to compile input from a broad range of individuals pertaining to the core vs adaptable components of the intervention, which will inform the subsequent implementation efforts (specifically streamlining of the intervention and/or adaptations to different settings and populations).
Tasks and Responsibilites
1) Conduct clinical assessments with participants that receive this intervention.
2) Design the methods and tools (Qualtrics surveys with embedded videos, semi-structured guides for focus groups) for mixed-methods data collection to compile input from a multidisciplinary panel (experts, community members, community health workers, health care providers/administrators) pertaining to the intervention's core and adaptable components.
3) Carry out literature reviews that can inform the write up of this project for peer-reviewed publication.
