Mrina Mtenga is a senior at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. As technology grows at a tremendous pace, Mrina is eager to explore how these innovations can be used in improving medicine and healthcare. After graduation, he plans to continue his journey through graduate studies in Computational Biology. At the Medical College of Wisconsin, he works under the guidance of Dr. Peter LaViolette in the Radio-Pathomics Lab, where he helps research brainstem infiltration in late-stage glioblastoma using advanced radiomics and multiomics techniques.
Outside the lab, Mrina enjoys tutoring math, especially calculus, to both college and high school students. Since 2023, he has been a member of the Student Success Center, helping students improve their math skills, and Mrina loves finding ways of making college-level math more fun and easier to understand. In his free time, Mrina is a massive fan of independent and small-budget films. He is also fascinated by space and eagerly awaits the exciting developments future space exploration will bring.
