Project Description

The study aims to systematically examine how Russian disinformation narratives emotionally and psychologically influence rural conservative communities in Wisconsin. Using AI-driven sentiment analysis tools, the study will identify the underlying emotional responses these narratives provoke, assess their intensity, and track changes in sentiment over time. 

Tasks and Responsibilites

The student will be engaged in preprocessing Instagram text data for AI analysis
1. Extract text from captions, comments, and post descriptions for analysis.
2. Clean and normalize text (remove emojis, links, special characters). 
3.Detect and separate bot-generated and organic engagement by analyzing comment patterns.
