Project Description
Tannis is conducting research on food insecurity in Milwaukee's Midtown neighborhood. In Fall 2022 she completed collecting quantitative data, census data, and interviewing UWM faculty to get an overall idea of the scope of her project. In Spring 2023 she will conduct interviews with neighborhood residents and food activists to get a sense of what issues of food insecurity mean to the community.
Tasks and Responsibilites
Tannis will interview 4-6 food entrepreneurs, community food justice activists, and local residents. She will ask them how they experience and address problems of food insecurity in their communities. She will also write a report on policies and structural practices that contribute to food insecurity in Midtown. In doing so she will be able to produce a report that compares the issue in a top down and bottom up manner.
