Project Description
Persistent monitoring of potable water throughout water delivery systems, as well as the development of a portable potable water monitoring system for third world environments is lacking. Our objective is to develop proof of concept of a water quality assessment device consisting of multisensory applications to test for bacteria, viruses, heavy metals, and particulate matter. This device will communicate data to a blockchain open leger. This transparent data will empower research of data sets, including analysis of contaminant hotspots, to enable rapid responses to acute compromises to water quality.
Tasks and Responsibilites
1. Develop the blockchain environment and the ability to feed sensor data into the blockchain. Simulate the flow of the water system and data generation within the system.
2. Harness the potential of current sensor technologies to maintain integrity within water systems and to pinpoint pollutant sources.
3. Research on current solutions, developing the case for how potable water is created and the shortcomings with the current systems, with case studies of failures.
