The Office of Sustainability offers a limited number of student hourly jobs. Postings, when available, are listed below. Students must apply using the UWM portal.

  • We do not currently have any student employee positions available at this time. Please check back!

We also offer project-based internships for course credit to UWM students. Projects are most often 1-semester long, covering a pertinent sustainability initiative, priority, or research topic aligned with goals of the office. We are currently seeking student projects related to supporting the following priorities for campus: food security, urban habitat restoration, window bird strike interventions, public health benefits of bus and bicycle transportation, and emergent solar technologies. We will also consider other topics – please email your ideas or questions to ask-sustainability@uwm.edu.

To advance to a credit-based internship, we require the following:

  • Project summary (1-2 paragraphs)
  • Internship or independent study class number (example: CES 489)
  • Supervising faculty member, who will need to approve and grade the internship project for course credit
