Spring Greening! – Saturday, April 18th at 9AM-12PM at the Heat Plant Spiral Gardens

- What: With the help of students and volunteers, the UWM Office of Sustainability clears out old growth in the spiral rain gardens on campus to make room for new native plants to grow. This year, we will also be doing some trash clean up and garden prep at some additional native gardens on campus, too! Sustainability Sips – NEW DATE! – Tuesday, May 5th at 2PM in the Union Art Gallery
- Join the Office of Sustainability for a hot cup of tea in the Union Art Gallery.
- As a new version of the Spiral Gardens takes shape on campus this year, we will look for ideas about how students and staff most want to engage with this important green infrastructure feature on campus (you have probably walked by it without even knowing – we want to change that!).
Pollinator Protectors – Part of Mental Health Week! – Thursday, May 7th at 3PM at Lapham Hall Pollinator Garden
- Do you love nature? Do you love plants? Take care of yourself by caring for the Earth!
- Join us for gardening, volunteering, and socializing about nature at the Lapham Hall Pollinator Garden (in front of Lapham Hall, along Maryland Avenue).
- Learn about the importance of native plants on campus and get your hands in the soil!
- Volunteer waiver required at event. Register online here or just stop by. The more, the merrier!
- This event is in partnership with the UWM Student Health and Wellness Center Mental Health Week 2026. Find more information on the SHAW website.

- Weekly “Pollinator Protectors” volunteering sessions meet on Thursdays.
- Unless otherwise noted, we generally at the Sustainability Offices in Architecture & Urban Planning, Room 116 and then walk to different sites across campus each week. If you arrive late, look for signs on the door.
- Close-toed shoes required. Bring your own gloves if you have them (we have extras) and a water bottle. Work is 100% outside weather permitting. You will get dirty so dress accordingly.

- Thursday, May 7th at 3PM-5PM (Meet at the Lapham Hall Pollinator Garden along Maryland Avenue – in collaboration with Mental Health Week!)
