Nina Hartwig
- Sustain Policy&Plan Analyst I, FINAA Sustainability
Nina started working at the Office of Sustainability in 2019 after volunteering with the composting program. She worked as the campus garden and composting assistant during her time as an undergrad and graduated in 2021 with a BS in Conservation and Environmental Science. As a student, she launched the highly successful “Panther Pails” – UWM’s signature composting program. She recently earned her M.S. in Freshwater Sciences from UWM and supports a range of programs in the Office including data collection and reporting, food resiliency, and student outreach. She serves as the mentor for many student employees and has the skills to serve as a back-up for our surplus and recycling programs, too. Nina aims to provide students with the tools and information they need to lead more sustainable and resilient lives in the face of the climate crisis. In her free time, Nina enjoys ceramics, crafting, and thrifting for chairs and lamps.
