Kelly Haag
With nearly 25 years of experience in the field of Student Affairs, Kelly Haag has served as the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs since 2018. She started at UWM in the Department of University Housing in 2003, serving as its director from 2011 until her appointment as chief student affairs officer in January 2018. Notable accomplishments during her time in University Housing include implementation of UWM’s living learning community program and the university’s inclusive housing policy, opening three new residence halls, initiating and managing several large-scale capital projects, and guiding a robust departmental strategic planning process.
As Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs, Kelly leads a diverse team responsible for supporting and engaging students through a robust set of resources and programs. The mission of Student Affairs is to create an engaging community where students feel they belong at UWM, to develop transformative learning opportunities outside of the classroom, and to provide services and experiences that support and promote student wellbeing so that students can thrive, persist, and succeed.
Kelly has a bachelor's degree in Spanish and in Speech Communication from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, and a Master of Education in Counseling from the University of North Texas.
