Coaching and counseling

The foundation of the program rests on the on-going, individualized coaching students receive from SSS staff. Meet one-on-one with an SSS coach or join virtual group sessions focused on academic success, career planning, and financial guidance.

SSS Summer Bridge Program

SSS Summer Bridge is geared for entering first-year students to provide academic enrichment and preparation for their first semester experience. The program runs Monday-Friday, for four weeks from July – August. There is no fee for the SSS Bridge program and it does not carry university credit. 

Sessions offered include: College success skills, economics of personal finance, and math, reading, and college writing readiness.

SSS-Exclusive Study Lounge with Computer Lab

Visit our SSS-exclusive study area in Mitchell Hall Room 135, from 8am – 4:30pm daily Mondays through Fridays. Enjoy a welcoming space in the SSS lounge with free coffee, tea, hot chocolate, snacks, and printing. Our printers are available for use by SSS students to print materials for free.

  • Leadership conferences such as the Ronald E. McNair Research Conference and Graduate Fair, McNair/SSS Retreat sponsored by WAEOPP, and American Multicultural Student Leadership Conference (AMSLC).
  • Financial and economic literacy sessions offered during the Summer Bridge Program.

TRIO SSS offers a series of four on-demand workshops, alongside the new Microcredential Series on AI Literacy Essentials for Students, to help you succeed in college and beyond. These workshops are designed to foster critical skills for academic and personal growth.

TRIO SSS subscribes to StudentLingo’s 50+ online workshops to support learning, personal growth, and wellness. Workshops include closed captions (English & Spanish), resources, activities, and certificates of completion — easily accessible from your personalized student dashboard.
